For many students trying to find an internship is stressful. Not do they only have to worry about where they'll be interning but also how they will survive while working for free. Thankfully, Pay Our Interns has compiled a list of Congressional Offices that are still looking for interns for the fall and the best part is they pay! Whether you're a democrat, Republican or Independent, we've got you covered.

*Tip: While most say rolling, our advice is to apply ASAP because fall is almost here. Also, keep an eye out for our Fall Paid Internship List coming out soon with various organizations, corporations and other paid opportunities.

CONGRESSIONAL INTERNSHIPS STILL AVAILABLE

 

DEMOCRATS

 

Brian Schatz (HI)  - The Hawaiian senator offers one fully paid internship per session, alongside stipends to all other interns. There is a rolling deadline for internship positions. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to his website.

 

Heidi Heitkamp (ND)  - Senator Heitkamp offers paid internships plus academic credit to all interns. Preference is given to students from North Dakota or are enrolled in an in-state university. Martin Heinrich (NM) - All internships are paid at $12 an hour, with preference given to college and graduate students from New Mexico. The deadline to apply is July 31st. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to his website.

 

Sherrod Brown (OH) - While not offering a salary or stipend like others on this list, the Ohioan senator provides need-based financial aid to interns to help offset the cost of living in Washington DC. Tim Kaine (VA) - The former vice-presidential candidate offers paid positions to his interns, with preference given to Virginia residents and in-state students. There is a rolling deadline for internship positions. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to his website.

 

Chris van Hollen (MD) - The junior senator from Maryland offers fully paid positions to his interns. The application deadline is August 4th. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to his website.

 

Jack Reed (RI) - The Rhode Island senator offers paid full and part-time internships, with preference given to Rhode Islanders. There is a rolling deadline for internship positions. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to his website.

Betty McCollum (MN) - This congresswoman from Minnesota offers all interns a stipend, with preference given to those with Minnesota ties. There is a rolling deadline for internship positions. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to her website.

REPUBLICANS

 

John Hoeven (ND) - The North Dakotan senator offers all interns a stipend, with students from North Dakota receiving priority. The application deadline is August 1st. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to his website.

 

Lisa Murkowski (AK) - This Alaskan senator offers a stipend to all interns, with Alaskan ties a plus in the application process. There is a rolling deadline for internship positions. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to her website.

 

Richard Burr (NC) - The North Carolina senator offers paid internships for the Fall season. The application deadline is July 28th. For more information and steps on how to apply, go to his website.
